Q:
How do I know whether my English is good enough to study at
BEST?
A:
It is true that BEST is most suited to students that
have reached the Intermediate level of English (or above).
There are three reliable ways to determine this for yourself:
1) You possess a TOEFL score of 475 (CBT 150)
or better.
2) You possess a TOEIC score of 600 or better.
3) You have been approved to study on the basis of a telephone
interview with a member of BEST's qualified staff.
No proof of score is required for acceptance,
and these are simply guidelines designed to help students determine
for themselves whether they are "ready" to begin our
program. If you are really not sure of your English level,
a telephone interview is the safest choice, and can easily be
arranged at your convenience by emailing the school at: info@englishthebestway.com
Q: I am very interested in enhancing my "Western
work experience". How can I be sure that I will qualify
for the BEST Internship Program?
A:
ANY student who satisfies the school's requirements
and graduates with the BEST Diploma in Business English may
participate in the Internship program. Since the course
is so complete in its coverage of the necessities, this is the
only requirement. According to their need, students will receive
additional counselling in order to help them prepare for and
succeed in their interviews with our various distinguished partner
firms. For more information about our internship partners
- including links to their company websites - please consult
the "BEST Internship" page found elsewhere on this
site.

Q:
Is there any actual difference between the morning session
(9 a.m.-1:15 p.m.) and the afternoon one (2 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.)?
A:
In a word, no. That is, other than the times at which
they occur. BEST is well known for quality, and this is due
in part to its comfortable class sizes (maximum 10). In order
to meet this priority of keeping class sizes low - and thus
maximizing the learning potential of our students - we must
offer two separate daily sessions. Everything is the
same except the students... otherwise, the content, resources,
quality, and even the teachers are exactly the same in the
morning and the afternoon!
Q:
Do I need a Student Visa to study at BEST?
Not
necessarily. Actually, our program is designed to
be entirely completed within 6 MONTHS. That's
because students from most countries can come to Canada as
"visitors" (with NO FORMAL VISA) provided that their
length of stay/study does not exceed six months. Remember,
our Academic (Diploma) Program is three months, and our Internship
Program is three months, so both can easily be completed
within the time allowed by Government of Canada policy. However,
if you are planning to study longer than six months, you will
need more information on how to procure a Student Visa. To
repeat, for people from most countries, this is not necessary
if BEST is the only school you plan to attend.
Q:
Can you help me find a place to stay in Toronto?
A:
Yes, we would be more than happy to arrange
a comfortable, convenient homestay or straight accomodation
during your time here. Our only requirement is that you be
prepared to make a full three-month commitment, as this is
already a relatively short stay.
