DIRECTOR'S
MESSAGE
We are very pleased to present this special
edition of the BEST TIMES with
an in depth internship report from Reynaldo Cantu. Rey
joined us at BEST this past winter, and has been faithfully
pursuing his internship at Interware Systems since graduating
at the top of his class in May. After finishing the
diploma course at BEST, Rey received
a perfect score (990) on his official TOEIC test.
I speak for all of us when I say that we are very proud
to know and work with such a great student and individual.

ANOTHER
BEST SUCCESS STORY: REYNALDO CANTU, INTERWARE SYSTEMS

|
| |
Outline of daily responsibilities:
Here at Interware Systems, I get assigned projects to
create web pages that can process online transactions.
Interware Systems’ staff looks for potential clients
that can be highly benefited by the technology and security
of e-commerce.
My responsibilities are: |
|
| |
• Analyzing
the client:
o to identify their needs and requirements
o this can be done by checking their
web site or by
emailing back and forth
• Getting the MORPH, this is
the look and feel of the client’s web site, to
accommodate it into the e-commerce web page that Interware
Systems will provide for the client.
• Creating the template files
for the web page to hold the online transactions, this
requires HTML coding.
• Setting the events and registration
forms using the information provided or gathered
from the client.
• Establishing coupons, taxes, volume
discounts and other specific topics that are
of concern to the client, such as: e-ticketing, this
is the creation of an electronic ticket for the customer
to print out after the transaction.
• Formatting of the Web page
• Testing the e commerce site
works accordingly.
Level
of satisfaction:
I’m really satisfied with this internship, everyone
here at Interware Systems are really nice and open to
all the people here in the office. I got
my desk, a telephone line, a personal computer, email
account, so it was pretty much as if I was working here.
The atmosphere is very relaxed. What I really enjoyed
was that I was assigned to projects that were just for
me. I was responsible of all the steps and after I finished
or achieved a substantial advancement on the project,
I asked for the evaluation of my progress. I have so
much freedom! As long as I kept on doing a good job,
I was able to work on my own pace, which is a fast pace,
but nevertheless, I was doing it because I liked it.
As I reflect on what I’ve accomplished
here, I can clearly see the benefits this internship
has provided me in terms of Canadian experience, advancement
of my skills and personal and professional growth! |
